The Herkenrode Abbey site is located in the Province of Limburg, in Hasselt-Kuringen.
A beautiful nature area and a fascinating past: two ingredients that make up the wonderful cocktail known as the Herkenrode Abbey site. With the support of the Flemish government, several partners and volunteers, the old farm buildings of Herkenrode Abbey and the surrounding 100-hectare nature area are currently being developed into a reserve where nature, culture and tourism blend together seamlessly. At present the Herkenrode Abbey site is still very much under construction, but it’s a wonderful place for interesting discoveries and experiences.
